Zoom Masterclass - August 8th - Harmonizing The Blues Scale

This is a great way to add some sophistication to your blues playing and introduce some jazzy sounds. There are a bunch of ways you can do this. Using stacked 4ths, Major 6th chords....these are common and easy to apply approaches I'll be sharing but I'll also be sharing some more uncommon approaches like using many different chord qualities that also target the changes. I use this stuff when I'm playing blues, jazz, country, western swing... you'll get a lot of mileage out of these ideas. 

How To Play "Out" Over The V7 Chord - In this lesson I'll share some common approaches for playing over a V7 chord to get an "Out" sound. This lesson will open your ears and theory knowledge 

Swinging Doors Intro - Here's another classic kick of a Merle Haggard classic. We'll learn the Ralph Mooney Steel part arranged for guitar and Phil Baugh's lead guitar part. This is a classic must know tune and intro. 

I-IV-V Major Triad Workout - Ok this has come up a lot lately. Do you want to add more harmonic motion to your lines? Play better rhythm guitar? Start to see the fretboard in a more useful way? Then you have to be able to voice lead your triads. I share a hybrid picking pattern and some lines that make this stuff a bit more fun
